This is the fly I learned to fly fish with! My pawpaw loved fishing of all kinds but didn't like fishing for "fancy trout", as he called them. He reserved his fly fishing for bass and other still water species. The popper, or popping bug, is an effective fly for all sorts of lake and pond fish, especially bass.
